Hello my name is Lynsey and I live in a small village near York, North Yorkshire and up until June 2004 I lived with two Cocker Spaniels who are brother and sister (Mabel & Jarvis). A couple of months prior to this I felt like my world had been torn apart when my beloved Bulldog Oliver lost the fight to cancer and to assure he left us with a little dignity I had to make the heartbreaking decision to have my baby pts. He was only 3 years old, it just seemed so unfair. I couldn’t possibly get another Bulldog. I couldn’t replace my boy so I made the decision a month later that I had the room for another dog and the plan was to help a rescue dog, probably an older dog that was fine with my two and happy to be left for the couple of hours I am at work. Then BANG my life was flipped upside down……
After a rather strange phone call I found myself in the car on my way to see a litter of puppies. They suspected that one of the pups was deaf and asked if I would be willing to take this pup on as the only other option would be to have the pup pts. YES my heart over ruled my head at first, I mean what do I know about training a deaf dog? Where the heck would I start? Do I really have time to give to a pup when I work? Then it happened……..
……………..……… I fell in love with the sweetest puppy you could have ever seen.

We travelled the couple of hours home and he slept all the way. What had I done?
I got home and introduced him to the other two. They gave me the same look that they gave me when I brought Oliver home. It was the look of “ok haha funny mummy can you take it back now!” but this was his new home and our journey was about to begin. I never realised what a rollercoaster of emotions I was going to go through. I never realised what clowns this breed was and I never realised that I was going to make a network of friends all over the UK and even the world that were going to help me, support me and be there for me every step of the way with his training, troubles and laughs. I got to work scouring the web, reading books and learning whatever I could to get the basics.
So here’s our story or should I say MUTTON’S Story. I hope you enjoy. xx
